Tonight: Washington Monument Lighting and Fireworks

True Baltimoreans, tonight at 7 pm is the annual lighting of the Washington Monument (or as we call it, the REAL Washington Monument). The event is always fun and a worthy Baltimore tradition– a time when hipsters, bros, skeezes, yuppies, and d-bags can come together to celebrate our fine city.

And if that isn’t enough, Orioles star and all around good guy Nick Markakis will be flipping the switch with none other than our now infamous soon-to-be ex-mayor, Sheila Dixon [Insert giftcard jokes here]

  1. On your way to or from tonight’s event I’d highly recommend a trip to 34th Street in Hamden to see the greatest display of lights and decorations in the Baltimore area and far beyond.

  2. Sounds like a great idea, but if the lighting is at 7, maybe we should check out 34th street after. Anyone else from the Bohs and O’s team interested?

It’s great to see Orioles players out in the community.

  3. I’ll be there

  4. Turp’s before? I would love to try their food this time.

  5. Baltimore Transplant

You need to put a spoiler alert on that picture. The suspense is no longer killing me.

  6. Sh-Sheila, You’re breaking my heart
    You’re shaking my confidence ba-by
Sh-Sheila, I’m down on my knees
I’m begging you please to come home

  7. Boheros- (you’re all boheroes in my book) – after the lighting there is also a traditional Irish jam session at Dougherty’s starring some aquaintances of this blog. 8-11pm. Stop by if you want to meet your bloggers (or slap them in the face because their blog is sooo goooood).
