In US Census data released today Maryland remained the wealthiest state in the country, based on a measurement of median household income. Based on 2008 Year End data, the median household income increased slightly; a welcome surprise considering how much coverage there has been on the decreasing home prices in the state. Obviously Americans all over the country have been victims of the economy in the past year, but it’s a good sign for the state that Marylanders seem to have eased that suffering moreso than other US citizens.
