Sullivan’s Suckhouse Sucks Some More

Just when we thought Sullivan’s Suckhouse could not suck anymore they go ahead and do exactly that.  The ownership allowed Yankees players to dine at their establishment.  Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada were both spotted there when the Yankees were in town last weekend.  I would rather get on all fours next to a pig and eat slop out of a trough than eat next to Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada.

Maybe we can not blame Sullivan’s for allowing them to eat there because they could be sued if they kicked them out for no reason.  But we can blame Sullivan’s for creating an atmosphere that attracts degenerates like Yankees players.

One of my favorite stories about Oriole fanhood was in the Sun two days after He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named interfered with a flyball above the out stretched arm of Tony Torasco.  The article covered a bagel shop owner who kicked out a potential customer wearing a Yankees hat the morning after the game.  When are we going to get the passion back so more things like that happen?  Until then hopefully we can rely on places like Sullivan’s to keep Yankees players out of places where true Baltimoreans actually want to eat and where Natty Boh is proudly served.

  1. Another good story about old-time Baltimore pride, though much further in the past, is the way baltimore refused to adopt the Redskins as a home team after the Colts left. Conversely, in the absence of a Baseball team, many poeple from Washington DC and Northern VA. became Orioles fans (and probbly still are considering that the Nats are one of the few organizations with worse management, talent, and ownership–not to mention the most boring stadium in the history of sports).
